Kalan Wolfe

Kalan Wolfe has been performing professionally for 18 years. He is the lead singer, guitar player, and a songwriter for THE SHIFT. He is also an audio engineer and has self released all the band's music. Kalan is well known for his captivating lyrics, and was a contestant on American Idol in 2019. He is the son of band-mate Bapa, husband of Keely, and daddy to Ember Brightheart. Kalan enjoys alternative carpentry, creating digital art, reading, and being a father.

Keely Crow-Ka

Keely Crow-Ka is the band manager, back up singer, co-producer, and a song writer for THE SHIFT, which she has been performing with since 2018. She is a dedicated mother to many, including daughter Ember Brightheart who performs regularly with THE SHIFT. Keely is married to the founding band member, Kalan Wolfe, and therefore daughter in-law of fellow band-mate Bapa. Her interests outside of music include foraging, herbal crafting, writing, traveling, and playful-hearted trouble making.

Karl “Bapa” Hatton

Karl Hatton, otherwise known as Bapa to his fans and band-mates, has been lending his vocal talents and keeping rhythm with THE SHIFT since 2016. He has enjoyed making noise by banging on things since he was a toddler, and has been involved in percussion in one form or another for most of his life, including several bands in Hawaii and the Sequim Marimba in the PNW. He is the father of founding band member Kalan Wolfe, is a lover of fine scotch whiskey and travel, and is a dedicated grandfather, whose humor and playfulness captures the heart of the band.

Walter Harris

Walter Harris has been with THE SHIFT since 2018, first on bass, and now on electric guitar. He grew up in the backwoods of Western Massachusetts. Walter picked up guitar at the age of sixteen and a bass a year later after hearing "Nothing's Shocking" by Jane's Addiction. He moved to Washington in 2001 and has been involved in the local music scene ever since, performing as a professional musician and working his magic in the sound industry.

Casey Greenspane

Casey Greenspane has enlivened THE SHIFT’s rhythm section since 2022, first as a percussionist and now as the lead bass with over thirty years of experience. Long-time locals to Port Townsend may recognize him as the teenager who spent two years with a djembe strapped on, playing as he walked around town. Casey’s influences span many fusion genres, especially funk metal, psychedelic and prog rock. He hears the sound of an instrument as a language and finds many percussive instruments have an especially unique sound. Learning to speak that language is an interest Casey has always possessed and a skill he’s adept at sharing.

Mike McClure

Having grown up playing on his father’s Valje congas, Mike McClure has been a lifelong drummer. In the mid-90s, after high school, he bagged up his djembe, put on a backpack, and moved to Port Townsend, WA, where he’s been playing drums & didgeridoo with an incredible array of musicians ever since. Mike has been with THE SHIFT adding his personal flair to the percussion lineup since September 2023.

Cameron Quinn

Cameron "Captain" Quinn was a salty librarian before getting swept up in the fray of filming Make it Out Alive. They are an avowed story spinster, whether through flamboyant artistry, poetry, speculative fiction, or spectacular dance! Cameron is also studying ASL — you might spot some incorporated into their choreography.

Ember Brightheart

Ember Brightheart is the youngest member of THE SHIFT, having been born in 2009. They are the daughter of founding band members Kalan Wolfe and Keely Crow-Ka, and have been performing with THE SHIFT since 2018, lending their exquisite vocals to the band, while accompanying them on their ukulele. Ember is a talented dancer and gymnast, as well as a gifted painter.
